Coffee Hours
Wednesday, March 18, 12pm - 1:30pm EDT: It’s Women’s History Month. For this month’s WiCS+ Virtual Coffee Hour we're hosting a Wiki-thon. We’ll hang out online, sip our favorite brews, and work together to create or update Wikipedia pages for women cognitive scientists.
On Thursday, April 16, 1:30pm - 3:00pm EDT, building from last fall’s exchange of ideas on how we are using generative AI as a tool for our research, this spring we will be sharing cognitive science research on generative AI.
If you are involved in a research project related to generative AI and would like to talk informally about that research, contact the WiCS+ leadership team at womenincognitivesceince@gmail.com.

“Networking for Career Transitions”
Friday, May 23, 2025 | 3:00 PM – 4:50 PM
Session Description: Career transitions can be both expected, as when you move from one stage of training to another, and unexpected, when openings arise or circumstances change. These transition points bring uncertainty and opportunity. At times of transition, networks of peers and mentors can provide connections, advice, and support for career development. Our panelists bring expertise from multiple sectors to a discussion of building and maintaining professional networks throughout a career.
Panel discussion and Q&A will run from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm, followed by a speed networking event.
Chairs:
Kate Arrington, Lehigh University
Sarah Shomstein, The George Washington University
Presenters:
Deanna Barch, Washington University in St Louis
Iiona Scully, Exponent
Amber Story, Former Science Manager
